Major Club Fundraiser with Raffle and Auction of the day

The BRAG RC Model Plane Club is pleased to announce the second BRAG Fun & Float Fly to be held on the 23rd & 24th of November 2024

(If the weather is not suitable follow our Facebook pages for updates)

The club would like to invite all VMAA – MAAA affiliate clubs & their members to visit and enjoy our facilities for the first event where we are officially providing camping on the night before, Saturday the 25th.

Flying

Saturday and Sunday the 23-24th of November.

Flying starts at 9.00 am.

Gates open at 8.00 am.

Gates will be open on the Friday for early arrivals.

On the day it will be alternating sessions of Strip flying and Float flying. The time for each will depend on numbers of each category.

Generally our club site provides a 100 meter long strip suitable for most sizes of aircraft and Blue Rock Lake for float planes.

For those camping, there is flying on the Friday if you wish.

Entry

Flyers: A $20 Flyers entry fee on Sunday towards the running of the club is greatly appreciated.

General Visitors: A Gold coin donation by general visitors is appreciated.

Camping

Camping is available Friday Night and Saturday Night.

Please note there are some changes this year to the sites.

Click here to book a premium site, donation amount varies.

For a standard site, a donation of $10 per person per night towards the running of the club is greatly appreciated.

Upon arrival speak to one of the committee to be directed to the camping area/sites.

Book your camping site early as depending on numbers there may be a cap.

Premium Sites are the first 9 sites. the first 5 are 3m wide, and the last 4 are 6m wide. Premium sites start at $40 for minimum 2 Nights.

Refreshments

There will be onsite catering available on Saturday and Sunday.

BBQ breakfast with Egg and bacon Sangas $7.00

BBQ Lunch Hamburgers $6.00 and Sausages $3.50.

ALL day cold drinks available $2.50.

Evenings

There are two BBQs available for use on the Friday and Saturday evenings.

Credit Card Facilities are available.

Rescue Boat

There is a rescue boat on site in the event you need to fetch your plane. To use boat you need to have a boat license.

Amenities

There are portable toilets on site for your convenience.

We may not have tank water available in time for the event.

It is recommended to bring drinking water or you can purchase water bottles from the club.

There is NO 240Volts power on site at this stage.

Currently there is NO 12V Charging station.

Parking

There is ample onsite parking for visitors.

There will be a drop off zone near the pits entry area to unload bigger planes if required.

Gates open at 8.00 am

The entry is via the gate straight ahead at the end of Blue Rock road before the road turns left and becomes Glenbrook Place. See map below.

There is accommodation in Yarragon which is on the way to the Club and only 22 minutes from the club.

BRAG RC Club Location

Blue Rock Rd, Willow Grove VIC 3825

Turn north on Willow Grove Road at the town of Trafalgar.

You will need to cross the train tracks just prior to this opposite the United petrol station.

Access to the club is through the gate straight ahead at the end of blue Rock Road. DO NOT turn left into the new estate.

Other items of interest

The General Store "Willow on Main" is now open under new management. The Store is open 7 Days a week and opens at 7am and closes at 7pm. Feel free to grab a coffee on the way into the club. The store is only about 200m past our turn off.

There is a walking track that connects our club site to the main Willow Grove Park, swim area and boat ramp. It is a nice walk along the shoreline that is about 1.2 km long.

Top up on Supplies at IGA on the way.

The club is running Breakfast and Lunch on Saturday and Sunday. A lot of the supplies come from IGA Trafalgar.

We are very grateful for IGA's support in the past by the way of donated product and discounts.

If you find you self short of something for the weekend, stop in at IGA Trafalgar to top up your supplies. They are just off the freeway and easy to get to. There is a large car park in case you have a trailer on the back.

Trafalgar is the town you turn left at to go to willow grove, The IGA store is in the town, and it is easy to get back to the lights where you cross the railway to got Willow Grove.
